Editorial Policy

How we research, write, and maintain content on Tomh Mexico.

Our role

Tomh Mexico is an independent editorial website. We are not affiliated with INAH, any Mexican government agency, museum, university, or tour operator unless we explicitly state a partnership — which we currently have none.

Sourcing standards

Factual claims about archaeological sites, dates, and discoveries are based on:

  • Peer-reviewed archaeological publications
  • Official INAH announcements and excavation reports
  • Established reference works (handbooks, museum catalogs)
  • UNESCO documentation for cultural heritage designations

We do not treat social media posts, unverified news headlines, or forum discussions as primary sources. Preliminary excavation results are described as preliminary until peer-reviewed or officially confirmed.

Original writing

All content on this site is written originally for Tomh Mexico. We do not scrape, spin, or reproduce other websites' articles. We do not copy competitor content structures sentence by sentence.

What we will not publish

  • Fabricated statistics, quotes, or testimonials
  • Claims of affiliation with institutions we do not work with
  • Instructions for looting, purchasing, or trafficking antiquities
  • Content that disrespects living indigenous communities or treats their traditions as spectacle
  • Sensationalized "curse of the tomb" narratives without archaeological context

Corrections

When we confirm an error, we correct the article and note the change if it affects a significant factual claim. Send corrections to [email protected] with a verifiable source.

Images

Photographs are sourced from Pexels and Unsplash under their respective free licenses, downloaded and hosted locally. Favicon and SVG icons are original artwork created for Tomh Mexico. We do not use copyrighted news photographs, Getty Images content, or competitor website images without license.

Full attribution and license details are listed on our image credits page. Where a photo illustrates a related but different site than the article subject, we state this in the alt text.

Structured data

Schema markup on this site describes only what is visibly present. We do not add fake reviews, ratings, business addresses, or phone numbers to structured data.

Updates

Articles may be updated as new archaeological discoveries are published. Major updates are integrated into the existing article rather than published as duplicate pages.
